So why Tom Petty AND Fleetwood Mac?
The answer comes from Stevie Nicks herself, "if Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers had said 'leave Fleetwood Mac and come join us', I probably would have." Stevie Nicks approached Tom Petty in 1976 and asked him to write a song for her. The event led to a nearly 40-year friendship and on-and-off collaboration.
That led US to connect-the-dots and create Petty Rumours.
One day, during a discussion about adding a few Tom Petty tunes to their cover band's repertoire, Chris Seidl (guitar), Diane Gorman (keyboards & vocals) and Tommy Gorman (drums) decided to form a Tom Petty tribute act. Shortly after this decision, "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" was heard on the radio and within minutes, Petty Rumours was born.
The wealth and amazing songs from these multiple award-winning artists, along with their solo and side projects, make for an evening of unforgettable music. The show brings together over four decades of chart-topping material from Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac and even The Traveling Wilbury's! With combined sales of these artists easily topping 200 million albums, the selection of great music is so vast that the band can change-up their set list, draw two audiences and keep the show interesting and entertaining. All of the music has been studied and rehearsed for a full energy show with a high standard of musicianship.
In the words of Tom Petty himself, "Music is probably the only real magic I have encountered in my life. There's not some trick involved with it. It's pure and it's real. It moves, it heals, it communicates and does all these incredible things."
Come be a part of the magic as we weave the music of these two legendary artists into one entertaining and interesting show!
